Vegetarian Ideal

Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.

Buddhism

goldenbud

When this is, that is.
This arising, that arises.
When this is not, that is not.
This ceasing, that ceases.
—Buddha Shakyamuni, on dependent origination

budaparinirvanaThere is an unborn, unoriginated, unproduced, unformed.
Were there not this unborn, unoriginated, unproduced, unformed,
there would be no escape from the world of the born, originated, produced, formed.
Since there is an unborn, unoriginated, unproduced, unformed,
therefore is there an escape from the born, originated, produced, formed.

Where there is dependence, there is instability;
where there is no dependence, there is no instability.
Where there is no instability, there is quietude;
where there is quietude, there is no desire.
Where there is no desire, there is no coming and going;
where there is no coming or going, there is no birth or death.
Where there is no birth or death,
there is neither this world nor that world, nor both.
That is the end of sorrow.
—Buddha Shakyamuni, Patalagami
