Lord Shiva is the god of the yogis, self-controlled and celibate, while at the same time a lover of his spouse Shakti. Shiva is responsible for change both in death and in the positive sense of destroying the ego; the false identification with the form. This also includes the shedding of old habits and attachments.
In destruction, truly nothing is destroyed but the illusion of self. Thus the power of destruction associated with Lord Shiva is great purifying power.

Lord Rama is known as the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Rama, the perfect avatar of the Supreme Protector Vishnu, is the symbol of courtesy and virtue, a man of values and morals. Lord Rama is considered to have taken birth on Earth to destroy the evil forces of the age.

The son of Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha is the Lord of success and the destroyer of evils and obstacles. He is also worshiped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth. Ganesha is the remover of obstacles and he is propitiated before the beginning of any new endeavor in life.
